Fitness, Food and Living Well at Any Age!

Hi, I’m Tanya

I created 60Fit to share my journey of staying active, strong and well in my 60s and to show that getting older doesn’t mean slowing down or giving up on feeling your best.

For me, fitness it's not about extremes or perfection. It’s about keeping moving, enjoying the outdoors, building strength, and doing what I can to stay healthy, independent and full of energy.

You will find me out walking with my little dog Loki, running, lifting weights, or in the kitchen creating simple, nourishing meals.

Food plays a huge part in how I feel, and I am passionate about cooking high-protein, high-fibre recipes that support health as we age, especially for women.

This space is about real life. The good days, the slower days, and everything in between. If you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s or beyond and want to feel stronger, eat well and enjoy life.  I hope this inspires you to keep going, in your own way.

If you want to know a little more about why I created this website, read my first blog about it here.

Nourish

Simple, nourishing recipes that I genuinely love to cook and eat, full of flavour, rich in protein and fibre, and designed to support strength, energy and healthy ageing.

After years of following a low-carb and keto lifestyle, I’ve come to realise that as women age, nourishment is about balance rather than restriction. Protein and fibre have become fundamental to helping me stay strong, active and feeling my best, while the right carbohydrates, at the right time, can also play an important role especially when living an active life.

My cooking is heavily influenced by my love of Southeast Asian flavours, English classics, alongside comforting recipes inspired by my German heritage and childhood.

Many of the dishes here are simple adaptations of meals I genuinely cook at home, balanced for modern life while still full of warmth, flavour and enjoyment.

You will often find simple suggestions throughout my recipes for adapting meals depending on your own lifestyle, movement and energy needs. Above all, this is about real food, cooked simply, and enjoyed fully.

Rambling, Running & Resistance!

This is where I share how I keep moving in my everyday life. You will usually find me out walking with my little dog Loki, enjoying the fresh air and the simple pleasure of being outdoors.

Rambling, or hiking, has become one of my favourite ways to stay active, it clears the mind as much as it strengthens the body. Alongside that, I still enjoy running (at my own pace!) and making time for regular strength training. For me, resistance work has become more important, as I have got older, more than ever.  It’s not about lifting heavy for the sake of it, but about staying strong, capable and independent as the years go on. This isn’t about pushing to extremes, although if that's your thing, then good for you! It is about finding a balance - moving often, getting outside, building strength, and enjoying the process.

If you’re looking for a realistic, sustainable way to stay active in your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond, this is where I share what works for me.
